3 Jets To Start In Pro Bowl

Rosters were just announced. It was confirmed that Alan Faneca, Nick Mangold and Darrelle Revis will all play and start in the Pro Bowl, well deserved for all three.

Especially nice to see that Revis will start in the pro bowl after the fan voting left him out in the cold as the 3rd best cornerback in the AFC.

Jets also have 3 first alternates--RB Thomas Jones, LB Bart Scott, T D'Brickashaw Ferguson, and  2 second alternates--LB David Harris and DE Shaun Ellis.

Wish TJ could have made it, but you can’t complain about Johnson, Jones-Drew, and Rice getting the nod over him.

Harris as a second alternate doesn’t seem right, especially seeing as how Scott’s ahead of him.

They they have most definitely got that one mixed up, can’t get my head around that, but will take the ones we have, Would of liked Moore to get at least an alternative, one of the best run blockers their is and a big reason we lead the league in rushing.

Harris and D'Brcik

I can maybe see D’Brick being an alternate but Harris deserves to be in the pro-bowl hands down

I used to like the Patriots and Dodgers, then my balls dropped

Yeah, it seems like they mostly got it right for once, but that one is glaring.

Mangold is one of the best young Centers in the game

I’m not shocked Revis made it in

I don’t think anyone can be shocked that Revis made it in, best corner in the league let alone the AFC.

Harris

should be a starter. Anything less is bull plop.

by Bro Namath on Dec 29, 2009 9:57 PM EST reply actions

Still

Could be much worse. The Bengals have 0 Pro Bowlers this season.

Still can’t get my head around a division champion not having any representation at the Pro Bowl. Then again it’s a load of garbage anyway, hopefully none of these guys will be able to play with the Superbowl being the week after ;-)

can i get a link

that lists the roster and alternatives? thanks

126 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 2 picks and 2 forced fumbles on the best defense in the league. i understand ray lewis has way too much popularity and value to the ravens to not get selected starter, but how was demeco ryans selected over david harris? worse stats in all of those categories on a far inferior defense. this is an enormous snub.

by joey d on Dec 30, 2009 12:51 AM EST reply actions

and what about t-rich?? le’ron mcclain got selected because of his year last year where he got 900 yards and 10 tds. this year he has 175 yards and 2 tds. hes an okay run blocker whereas tony richardson is the best in the game. he is an extremely under appreciated asset on the best rushing offense in the league.

by joey d on Dec 30, 2009 12:56 AM EST reply actions

Richardson is a better run blocker and arguably more deserving of the fullback nod.

You make excellent points. Harris was straight up snubbed.

Fan Voting Isn't always accurate

Instead of fans voting for their position players, maybe receivers should have voted who they would NOT want to be covered by. Guarantee Revis would’ve made it then!

revis is starting genius.

by joey d on Dec 30, 2009 10:01 AM EST up reply actions

For the record....

I should have chosen my words more carefully. I was clearly referring to the fans voting for the 3rd best corner inthe AFC, as the article alluded to.

And Joey D, adding a thought or two of your own to the thread would be a definite plus.

I take the term genius as a complement, given the source….

No Harris?

Do you think

Revis and Moss talk over the Pro Bowl?

I used to like the Patriots and Dodgers, then my balls dropped

by Newcomb29(EDGE) on Dec 30, 2009 11:40 AM EST reply actions

TJ and DBrick deserved but lucky to get 3

Falcons and Bengals had no selections

He’s always open. He catches a lot of balls. He’s un-guardable, no matter how old he is

by WarWolf on Dec 30, 2009 4:16 PM EST reply actions

Too true, can’t believe that the Bengals don’t have any representation. Like TJ said though, pro bowl is not the focus, he works to win not to get to Hawaii or Florida in this case. Sure they won’t lose too much sleep over it.
