A Sign of Manning Sitting?

Adam Schefter tells us of a potential indication the Colts want to sit Peyton Manning on his Twitter account.

Hope for Jets that Colts could rest Peyton Manning some: Indianapolis signed QB Drew Willy off its practice squad today

That's certainly a compelling theory. If the Colts want to rest Manning, they'll need a third quarterback on the roster. Otherwise they'd be one hit to Curtis Painter away from having to put Peyton back on the field.

Good sign, indeed. Hope they rest him or at least play him for only a half.

"Otherwise they'd be one hit to Curtis Painter away from having to put Peyton back on the field."

well that or they could run THE WILDHORSE! Addai was a QB in high school and he threw a nice TD pass on a HB pass earlier this year.

The Colts don’t have the power running line to actually pull that, but it’s fun to think about.

Luck is probability taken personally, clutch is probability attributed to individuals.

It's shocking how much can slip your perception

IndyStar reporting that a DT was signed, not Willy

stay tuned and don’t count Peyton rested yet.

Purely a guess here, but I think Manning will play one half, but only if Ind has built up a sizeable lead, or is somehow way behind at that time. Or if he’s getting hit too much, and they worry about a possible injury. Regardless, the signing of Willy off the psquad is def a good sign they at least want Peyton on the bench before the game ends.

Like Ryan said...

You can’t base your game plan on the idea of Manning sitting or playing part of the game, just like you can’t base it on him having an off day either. You have to get ready for the best that the other team can throw at you and work against it.
The Colts don’t want to lose this game, and if they think there’s a risk, they will put Peyton back in unless he’s seriously hurt. The idea that the Colts would just shrug off a loss and let it happen is a myth.
