Adam Schefter on Twitter gives us a funny scoop. Rex Ryan was asked why he thought Mike Smith got the Falcons head coaching job over him two years ago.

Jets coach Rex Ryan on why he thought he didn't get Falcons job 2 years ago that went to Mike Smith: "I think I was too fat."

You guys remember all the “fat” jokes and insults opposing SBN bloggers would tell us about Rex in a few arguments here? Ha ha ha, I remember one guy from the Miami blog saying something like “Well at least Sporano isn’t fat” or something rather…Like that was their only response in an argument because they didn’t have an intelligent football related response to our insults…lol.

You used a post here to imply that some dude who mixed up two pieces of paper that were facing away from him somehow represents that Jets fans are stupid. You could have spent that time writing something related to football. His point was a lot of fans don’t relate their points to football.

Come on, man. You’re better than that. You can bring some insight from a rival fan.

on a post thats about a coach admitting hes fat.
all i did was defend the “supposed” miami fan from the “miami blog”
but ya definitely i wud be wrong if i had posted this on my own without being instigated or as a response to an intelligent argument.

Guy can poke fun at himself, calling him fat really isn’t a critisicism lol it’s just a fact, he knows it and he can have some fun with it, and I love that about him, will rip some of the players, but always willing to rip himself first. You all remember through TC and his liquid diet lol was brilliant
