Ask The Falcoholic!
I thought it'd be fun to wave at you guys as you storm toward the division lead, since we're on an escalator going in the opposite direction.
But wait, I've forgotten to introduce myself. I'm Dave the Falconer, the internationally renowned head blogger over at The Falcoholic, SB Nation's Atlanta Falcons blog, and a very sad fan at the moment. I'm here to answer any and all questions you might have about my team of choice leading up to this weekend's game. If you want to know if Matt Ryan will play, or why the Falcons keep losing, or how to free yourself from a Turkish prison using only a shred of newspaper, a rubber band and a Coke can, I'm the one to ask.
Thanks, gang, and here's to a good game. Please recommend this post so it will remain near the top of the list for those wanting to ask questions.

Hey Dave thanks for coming over, will return the favour in a few, just some initial questions.
What is Matt Ryan’s status right now and do you expect him to play on Sunday?
What has caused the Atlanta Falcons to drop lately?
How is our good old friend John Abraham doing for you guys?

Right now
Matt Ryan’s a huge question mark. Turf toe is a lingering injury and the coaching staff has shown a lot of caution about bringing him back. With our playoff hopes, however slim, hanging by the balance, he could well be back against you guys in a scaled-down gameplan. Hard to say.
Injuries, poor play-calling and a lack of consistent execution have doomed the Falcons of late. If I had to point to one thing above all others, it would be our complete lack of a pass rush. In weeks like this last one against the Saints, we managed to generate zero sacks and not a whole lot of pressure. That’s a killer when your secondary is shaky to begin with.
To the naked eye, Abraham is having a down year. According to our most diligent reader, a stats man of the highest order, Abraham has a ton of quarterback pressures this year, so he’s just an inch or two away from piling up that sack total. In my estimation, he’s lost a half step.

whose absence has the bigger effect on your team, michael turner or matt ryan?
and what are your thoughts about the job that redman has been doing?
Definitely Turner
In his absence, our running backs are averaging under four yards a carry. Chris Redman is a very capable backup who could thrive with Michael Turner attracting attention and keeping defenses on their toes, but he’s having to throw way too often.
That’s not to say we don’t miss Matt Ryan, because we do. Turner’s just been far more consistent when he has played, and the Falcons have traditionally done well with a strong ground game.

Good to see ya Falcoholic. I really enjoy it when SBN blogs cross like this.
With that said…
Now that the Falcons have a starting QB and RB out, where do you see the Falcons focusing? Is it a run-first, pass-second team, or are they trying to play a more well-balanced, conservative game until a starter comes back?
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
It's a pass-first team
There’s a modicum of balance, but the instant the team falls behind they air it out. It’s not working particularly well right now, either.

How about our old friend Erik Coleman?
Is he making a difference in Atlanta?
and the home of the... JETS!!!
He's the very definition of solid
I never have a complaint with his play, but he rarely makes any standout plays. He’d be a solid 80 overall in Madden, the kind fo guy that you forget is back there for all the right reasons.

I'd say Turner
The team seems a lot less careful with him than Ryan.

I read that Ryan and Turner didn’t practise today, is that a sign that they perhaps won’t make Sunday or do you expect them to practise tomorrow?

Ryan's I don't see them playing
Ryan’s gotten some limited work, but I think both are too far away from returning to risk it on this weekend’s game. Your defense would probably destroy them anyways.

Ryan is a typical case of a sophomore slump
Even when he’s been healthy hes been mediocre at best.
on a side note I just got tickets to the Jets game this weekend at http://www.inseats.com/
and got 10% off with the discount code FB10…check it out.
