New York Jets at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Game Thread

New York Jets at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dec 13, 2009 1:00 PM EST

The Jets head down to Tampa for the first time since the Keyshawn-Chrebet Flashlight Game. That day they won to assert themselves as early season contenders. Today they're just trying to keep their hopes alive in a late season must win. A year ago, West Coast trips undid the season. Will Florida be this team's Waterloo in 2009? The Jets have lost three heartbreakers to Florida teams. They can't afford another.

Surprised Rhodes is playing given his recent tweeter remarks about the team. Clowney gets suspended but Rhodes doesn’t?

by chrebetsthebet on Dec 13, 2009 12:04 PM EST reply actions

That's too funny.

And Clowney didn’t even mean it. It was just a misunderstanding.

How about Rhodes playing and Adalius Thomas is not?

And Brady is banged up, and they don’t really have a solid back-up.

and the home of the... JETS!!!

We have a 16 team league that forces two starting QB’s so their were no QB’s left to play. I have Sanchez, so I had to drop Todd Heap to pick up Clemens to play this week while protecting Sanchez. Luckily I have Phillip Rivers as my other QB which should cover Clemens especially as my opponent had Big Ben who got practically no points at all.

Well, technically they are

If they score a TD they’re right back in it. It’s pretty infuriating; it should be about 27-0 right now.

by Prince on Dec 13, 2009 3:15 PM EST up reply actions

If anyone can give a game away

It’s the Jets. Not that I don’t think we’ll win but a little magic out of the opposing team in the 4th is not a huge anomaly.

by Bro Namath on Dec 13, 2009 3:16 PM EST up reply actions

looks like the patsies scored a td

by Ozone on Dec 13, 2009 3:15 PM EST reply actions

tampa doing an onsides kick shows what confidence they have in their defense eventhough the jets offense has sputtered at times

by Exystence on Dec 13, 2009 3:19 PM EST reply actions

i don’t think there is anyone tougher than mangold on the team

by chrebetsthebet on Dec 13, 2009 3:20 PM EST reply actions

As long as he’s ok. Mangold is one of the best Center’s and I’d hate to see his livelihood threatened by injury.

until they stop it

DO WHAT JOSE REYES DO!!!

by Jadden Hopkins on Dec 13, 2009 3:23 PM EST reply actions

Just change the Schotty formula

to run, run, play action for this game.

by Bro Namath on Dec 13, 2009 3:26 PM EST up reply actions

Amazing!

I’ve heard that when your passing game is somewhat competent, your offense is even better.

by Prince on Dec 13, 2009 3:24 PM EST reply actions

kellen seems to throw better on the rollout and such, it gives is happy feet something to do

by Ozone on Dec 13, 2009 3:24 PM EST reply actions

clemens gets some rythem and what does schott do? takes him out

by chrebetsthebet on Dec 13, 2009 3:26 PM EST reply actions

oh what a catch!! just as long as you don’t throw it to his face mask he can catch it!

by chrebetsthebet on Dec 13, 2009 3:27 PM EST reply actions

I think Revis needed a TD to get points in the defensive player of the year standings

by JetsFan1991 on Dec 13, 2009 3:39 PM EST reply actions

that was for the fantasy owners…11 this year…not too shabby

its almost less for me of worrying about injuries as much as giving other players an opportunity to show what they can present to the team in some capacity.

During the offseason, I’m planning on doing an all decade team for the Jets. The center position is going to be tremendously hard to pick.
