Q&A With a Panthers Blogger
Hello to the Nation of Gang Green! Jaxon here with Cat Scratch Reader, SBN's Panthers blog. One of your writers David Wyatt was king enough to put a Q&A Fanpost on our site so I thought I would return the favor. The weekly Q&A with the opposing blogger is one of the highlights of the week for me. So feel free to ask any questions about the Panthers and their match-up with your Jets this weekend. I'll check back throughout the week to answer your questions. I'm sure at least a couple of my readers might chime in as well.
The Panthers sit at 4-6 and on the cusp of playoff elimination. We have a very tough stretch to end the season so they must play at a high level if they are to make any noise. We're not very confident as fans to say the least. The Panthers proved that going 0-4 in the preseason is not a good sign and that poor paly carried over into the season.
We've also suffered some key injuries: DT Maake Kemoeatu in TC, leading tackler LB Thomas Davis three weeks ago and then Pro Bowl LT Jordan Gross two weeks ago. It also doesn;t help that our QB has now thrown 14 INT's in 10 games...
So can answer any questions?
Oh BTW, can I get a couple Recs for this post so it stays at the top?

Rec done, and some starter questions
What exactly is going on with the QB situation, earlier in the season I heard several complaints and notions of moving or demoting Delhomme, things seem to have settled down lately. What’s the reason for that? improvement in his play or a lowering of expectations?
Of the injuries that you labelled there, which one have you guys felt the most?
You have one of the best pass defences in the league, what are you doing well, and how much do you think you will attack Sanchez this weekend?
On the flip side of that, you are allowing over 130 yards per game on the ground, with Jones having an impressive year and the Jets guaranteed to run, run, run, what can you do to stop Jones?
Cheers for coming over to answer somequestions by the way.

David...
1 – Benching Delhomme was a cry from the fanbase only, Fox has stuck by his QB firmly to this point
2 – Both the loss of LT Jordan Gross and LB Thomas Davis have been felt the most. Gross replacement gave up three sacks to the Dolphins and Davis replacement (who is now on IR) is not recording the tackles Davis was. Incidently our WLB starting against the Jets will be James Anderson, a 4th year LB out of VT who palyed well in the preseason. We are hoping he can fill the shoes.
3 – I’m not sure if the pass defense ranking isn’t because our run defense is fairly poor. We play the pass well when we can get pressure and the secondary seems to have picked up new DC Ron Meeks system. Yet Peppers hurt his hand two weeks ago and the pass rush hasn’t been the same. Its area were hoping for improvement this week.
4 – Thomas Jones is a very good play in fantasy this week as I would be surprised if he doesn’t have a good day. Our only hope would be for Anderson, mentioned earlier, has a big day

One more thing
What do you think happens with Julius Peppers this off-season?

panthers fan here
Peppers’ value takes a hit with his hand injury and inconsistent-at-best playing (though with notable highlights)… I personally feel that he and the panthers will sign a long term contract as the free agency pool will be a fickle creature to Peppers should he decide to test it…
if the panthers and peppers fail to agree on a contract, I imagine that the panthers would likely place another franchise tag on him… he is still an invaluable part of the team, whether or not he plays like the star that he is…

If he were to test FA
What kind of contract would you expect he may well get?

I'm of the opinion the Panthers let him walk...
No way they pay him $20M next season….
He will get Haynesworth type of money from someone and he made it clear last year he really wants out…though he’s been quite about it since coming back this season

i think
he enjoys playing in meeks new system and he will stay, his production has suffered as of late because of a broken bone in his right hand.

How is your running game?
I know Williams is a pro bowl back but I’ve also hear Jonathan Stewart is a great back too? Also how is your offensive line?

we have arguably the best RB tandem in the NFL

I don't think that is the case here
Probably just don’t get to see as much to form a solid opinion on what kind of a runner he is etc, stats can be deceiving, so I think it was a kind of scouting question, is he a north to south guy, a fast guy, a patient guy etc etc etc

I gave you credit!
I know Williams is a beast! I’m just saying how is Stewart since I haven’t seen him play that much.

Why do you think the Panthers throw the ball so much?
It seems like the Panthers run game is phenomenal, and the passing game is awful. Why is it that every time I watch, it seems as if the team is throwing the ball at least 1/2 the time

We (as Panthers fans) have been trying to answer this question all season
