Nobody would do any better the franchise is cursed. If Parcells couldn’t get it done nobody will.

Unless
The Jets are going to play the Raiders every week it’s not going to get any better, we’re already looking at 4 losses in the division assuming we get beat by the pats which looks as it is going to happen and losing 4 of 6 is pathetic. I’ve been making the case that Sanchez isn’t the QB the Jets need and I know and understand he is a rookie but how long is that going to hold up, they’ve tried using that excuse for almost 3 years in Oakland with JaMarcus Russell and even though Sanchez is leaps and bounds better than Russell will ever be, he still doesn’t look to be more than a good game manager. I worry about the QB alot because the o-line is getting up in age and a good running game isn’t going to win a lot of games that in which we need to play catch up and to be truthful, we already had a game manager in Clemens so to me there really isn’t a difference except that both the starting QB and back-up are of the same skill set so at least if 1 goes down we really won’t miss anything. Rookie, Rookie,Rookie, the same old story but exactly how many of the same throws that get picked does one have to make before they stop making those throws? My point is that Miami has a piss poor pass D and they missed or dropped at least 4 INTs that any team with a mediocre D gets plus 2 of those would have gone to the house, now those are mistakes you expect in the beginning not by week 8 but I guess now every rookie QB that starts in the league get a pass for the whole season. I hope the Jets are able to come up with a winning formula but all I see is Rex Ryan trying to turn the team into another Baltimore ravens, and by that I mean a dominating D and little or no offense, remember the Trent Dilfer days when they did win a SB on the backs of the D while their offense had the lowest numbers in every catagory for a playoff team, or the other version that hasn’t won anything since with Stoney Case or Kyle Boller. That type of team will never win it all anymore because most of the elite teams have at least some form of offense along with good D so I’m not gearing up for a playoff appearance anytime soon, well maybe 7 or 8 years from now somebody in the front office will make some good personel decisions but until then I guess I’ll just have to accept mediocrity

Sanchez is so much more than a game manager
You know what I bet people were saying the same things in Indianapolis in 1998 as Peyton Manning threw 28 Interceptions and has a completion percentage around 55%. The rookie excuse is going to hold up until he is no longer a rookie, I can’t believe that some people are already jumping on the Kid. 8 TD’s and 10 INT, and 3 rushing TD’s and he is just a game manager, come on I know the 3 losses in the division are hard to take already, but these Sanchez haters are ridiculous. Same people who booed his draft selection, and the same people who are just waiting for him to show signs of struggle so they can say ‘I told you so’. I’m sure glad that front offices have a lot more patience than the Fans because a ‘franchise QB’ wouldn’t exist if fans ran the teams. Peyton had 28 interceptions and teams dropped a lot more, he could of had 30+ that season. You don’t expect mistakes in week 8 of a rookie season of a QB who has 16 college starts. You might be one of the hardest fans to please in the world. So what was the Braylon Edwards deal? another move to make us like the Ravens? come on guy, we are trying to maintain a balanced team and we are, we need to bring everything together. Nearly everyone would of been happy with a .500 season before the year, now we start 3-0 people are looking at it and turning their noses up at it. Mark Sanchez can make throws that Clemens could only dream of making, their are fans who no matter what Sanchez does are always going to cling to Clemens because they didn’t agree with the draft pick. It’s the same old Jets fan mantra , if it’s not working right away then it’s not going to work. If we finish 8-8 this year, and Sanchez finishes with around 15 TD’s 15 INT and 5 rushing TD’s, I’m delighted with that. Give the guy a chance, everyone is jumping ship, so your more than welcome to join them, however I think if you understand football, which I’m sure you probably do, you know that these things take time, we went with Chad and Herm it didn’t work, Mangini wasn’t right, let’s give Sanchez and Rex a chance before damming them and writing off the team for another 7-8 years.

Sanchez not the problem, Jets he problem
As I try to put these hideous loses out of my mind I hope I get this right. The Jets defense lost the first Miami game, the special teams lost the second one, Sanchez is responsible for the other two loses but played well enough(if not great) to win six out of his first eight games. Not too bad for a rookie. Of course last year a kid who hadn’t played since highschool came one Jet victory over Miami from making the playoffs and probably winning the superbowl so who cares. The problem with this team is something else and it has been that same something since superbowl 3. Bad karma I don’t know but whatever it is I’m damn tired of it. It’s like watching sitcom repeats over and over year after year.

Joe Flacco/John Harbaugh and Matt Ryan/Mike Smith
Have ruined it for every rookie QB and Head Coach tandem. Besides those two tandems the success rates of rookie coaches and QBs paired together is extremely low. We just need to sit back and see if he keeps improving, I mean how many rookie QBs could bounce back from a 5 INT game. Please can we just let this year play out before we crucify our QB. I know this is all a result of the impatience of the a New York based team but can we atleast look at this we some reality. How many rookie QBs beat Bill Bellicheck? 2, Mark Sanchez and the other? Ben Rothlisberger. Lets just wait this one out.

ryan/schottenheimer play-calling
i am happy to give sanchez time. will he be the best ever, probably not, but he has many tools, he has a good head, and he seems to be able to learn, so there is hope. and ryan, for the most part, is doing a decent job – certainly defensively.
but the play calling: we’re at the 9 yard line, 2nd down and 7, 9 for the game winning touchdown at home. a rookie QB who has a bit of an INT problem so far. the best running game in football (ok, 2 300 yd games will do that, but still, a very good one at least). 3 plays – 7-9 yards – why are they not running the ball instead of chancing an INT in the shortened field of inside-the-10? and we want to use the clock up besides, and there’s plenty of time on it???
the QB keeper earlier was brilliant, and worked. jones already has 100+ yds. this was a coaching mistake, and a coaching loss. O and D played fine. specials, well, that’s going to happen on rare occasions. but the coaching staff has to step up to their responsibility on this one.

100% agree
not sure who’s call that was, was it Ryan or was it Schotty, looked like it was Schotty’s call to me and that just adds to my argument that he is the most frustrating coordinator for some time. On the final drive and on the first drive where we kicked the FG.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm Rex's rating takes a dump both weeks of Phins losses.
Just think how stupid the average Jest fan is, and then realize that half of them are even stupider! ( a parody of a George Carlin line)

I don't think Rex is the problem
I’d rather see Rex stay and Shotty AND Sanchez go. That’s how much I feel Rex does for this team in terms of play calling and motivation. Maybe I’m just nuts though.
