Jets Hand Miami a Game

Anybody else going to be sick? The Jets absolutely handed the Dolphins the game today. How else can you break down a game when you give up 21 nonoffensive points in a single quarter? It's one thing when the opponent takes it to you like the Dolphins did in the first game. It's another when you just decide to hand them a game. A horrible fumble and missed tackles led to the points more than anything anybody on the Dolphins did.

I'm not going to sit here and say the better team lost. The better team doesn't shoot itself in the foot like that. Still just a horrendous loss.

Merry Christmas, Tony Sparano. You got a game gift wrapped that you did nothing to win. The defense deserved better. It played a brilliant game.

Vent below. The official recap will be up tonight.

Total Gimme.

This game isn’t close if we don’t do those things. I think Ted Ginn is becoming a Jets killer. Special teams just killed us.

ST lost this game.

Completely unacceptable that Ted effing Ginn is allowed to run back two kickoffs. Disgraceful.

His speed definitely played a role, but if the Jets tackle soundly, he doesn’t score one.

game vs miami and the refs

Again porr special teams and the incompetance of the refs did us in. On the 2 pt conversion the refs called an illegal shift , but the replay disagreed . On the kick off tds there were clips on Miami not called among other things. pas interferance . For a minute there I thought we were playing the Patriots. Evidently these refs were paid a visit at halftime from somebody affiliated with the dolphins or patriots. Again these refs were BOUGHT OFF. When the owner of the pats pays for a dinner party for the commish we got problems . The officiating needs to go .I say review penalties on replay so the refs can’t cheat

nyfan in fl- refs do bad job

I gotta agree with U on the bad calls of the refs. last week the pick 6 by darren sharper was obviously a fumble and touchback. There was a picture taken by the sports illustrated photographer of him fumbling on like the one or 2 yard line and the ref watching it, lol.

The first return I could live with, they didn’t stay in their lanes, but the second return where atleast 3 jets had a chance to tackle Ginn was atrocious. On a positive note, i thought Sanchez played great in the second half. And would someone please explain the illegal shift penalty on the 2pt conversion?

I just wanna say that it was an amazing game, the jets really did play alot better then us but I guess the benching of Ginn did really motivate him to play and actually use his talent rather then just dropping balls. Anyways I wish you guys the best the rest of the season.

I don’t care if we got swept by the dolphins, if we’re in the playoffs and the phins aren’t then that’s all that matters. We need to regroup and throttle Jacksonville.

Dont get your panties in a bunch, im sure when your talking about your jests, you say we, so we ( the phin fans as a whole) say WE end up with the same record, WE win the tie breaker, because WE are supporters, WE kinda pay their salary by buying tickets, and memorbilia…

on "we"

fans are just as much a part of the franchise as players. Seriously, what if no one went to any games. That franchise would die. WE buy merchandise. WE buy tickets. WE live and die for our favorite teams. That’s why “we” is an appropriate term.

Offense, Defense, Special Teams. The team that plays best in all 3 scores more points and allows less.

So, hate to put it to ya but. We scored more points than you did, which means we played better than you did. Try again please.

Last I checked The Fins Are Still Behind The Jets

This game will matter only if there is a tie. The Jets lost, they had an opportunity to win in the end and didnt, but we are only at the halfway point and for a team missing its two best players, other than special teams, we looked pretty good out there. This one really hurt but the season isnt over yet and the Pats will send the Fins back to the basement next week.

And the Panthers they are a very talented team, they won 13 games last year with basically the same team and there destroying arizona right now, it’s just a matter of time before they wake up. But against the Bucs and Bills those should be automatic wins.

and so ends another Jet season the same as so many others. Some great hope and then a great big let down No matter who is here they will not win. They now need to go 6-2 to have a shot at wildcard and one game is at the Cheaters home where Cheaterchick will no doubt call up a blizzard for the game. We now have to root for Miami to take the division from the Cheatriots

Games we should win?

as for Jacksonville, Buffalo, Carolina and Bucks the Jets never win the games they are supposed to that’s the problem. Look at the last 4. Miami twice, Buffalo, Raiders. No one thought they wouldn’t win at least 3 and most saw a sweep. What did we get 1-3. There are no games that a Jet fan should ever say are should wins. I’m disgusted with this trash team yet again! Things can be handed to you in the NFL. Take the home game the Jets played against Buffalo last year. Sure Abe Elam stripped J.P. Losman, and Shaun Ellis ran the ball into the end zone, but it was a terrible play by the Bills. They handed the Jets the win that day.

I think a better example is when

Joe Gibbs called the double timeout in that one game of his last year of coaching, moving the other team closer and basically giving them a redo on their missed field goal, giving them the W. Now THATS handing someone the game.

Wow

I just want to say this, I’ve been a Jets fan for a long time and have hated the dolphins all that time. But I LOVE NYJ/MIA games. It’s one of the last true rivalries in the NFL. You got us this year MIA. But can’t we just argue with stats and well thought out points, instead of just cursing and spouting out bullshit. I mean shit it’s an online sports blog

Yes, unfortunately there are idiots on both sides of the rivalry who disrupt civil conversation.

And you just compound things John B when you call out matty for being exasperated

when your members come over to Phinsider for 2 weeks and act like total jackasses, and Matty says go give them a taste of their own medicine. Matty may have been wrong, but you are even more wrong! 2 wrongs do not make a right!

And when you REFUSE to call out your OWN people for acting like they have been acting.

I seem to recall back when Rex was spouting off in June and making the Jets the OTA champions you thought it was GREAT! Now what do you think of that classless thing you call a coach?

Can't agree with you more Revis.

Our games are heart wrenching all the way to the end.
I know fans of both teams had their chests about to explode as the clock was under 5 minutes.

It truly could have gone either way.

Obviously I’m happy it went the way it did. Our offense has successfully put up 30+ points in the last 4 games… that says a lot. Our defense however, gives up almost the same.

Good game jets...

Two instant classics in one season. Can’t beat that. I’ll give it to you, I was worried as hell. The way Sanchez was throwing I thought we may have another tough loss on the way. I wouldn’t even come over here if it weren’t for your dumb ass head coach running his mouth. Rex Ryan, if you’re reading this, you let your players down. They have bought into your dumbass attitude and it’s getting you nowhere. Awesome game Jets, best of luck in your season, just don’t have a better record than us.

I make no excuses for Rex Ryan or any of the jets players that talk, but it’s not like the dolphins don’t have some of the biggest mouths in the NFL. I mean Joey Porter an Channing Crowder are worse then anyone on the Jets. Who cares what any of them say? They are all idiots. They are football players and coaches not motivational speakers. I mean really, 2 consecutive KO returns for TD. Not done since 1967. and they weren’t even short field returns – 100 and 101 yards!

Calm down people

We weren’t even expected to make the playoffs this year, we had a very difficult schedule, before the season started i though 8-8 would be great, Rookie QB, and one of top 5 toughest Schedule in the NFL.

Exactly

The toughest schedule for a team still technically in rebuilding mode. While people wanted and even argued that the phins would get to the playoffs, the reality of it is that it would be difficult for us to get to 8-8

not sure what hurts you more, a lack of class, skill or knowledge at all levels in your organization

From Rhodes acting like a fool to Scott continuing to talk like they won you show your lack of class. The Fins may have responded to you in the media but at this point the only thing you’ll hear them say is that the games have both been marked as wins.

Rex Ryan is beginning to look in over his head and it shows in the way he carries himself on the field. Clearly cursing on the sideline and not looking confident is not how you lead your organization. Good in some phases but like Herm not in many others. Maybe he’ll win just enough to stay around like Herm did.

Mike Tannenbaum has treated your stable of draft picks like a man who has one foot out the door. Maybe they’ll just promote Terry Bradway back to GM, I believe he’s still with the team. Sad part is they’ll fire Tannenbaum and leave Rex to deal with the new GM. Then when the new GM gets Rex fired you’ll be left with a sad and confused team that’s used to being led by a fool.

All in all the answers to your problems are looking you straight in the face. To bad your all blind.

Trading picks, lying to players and letting the inmates run the asylum will never get you anywhere.

Kept it clean and for what its worth go Yanks

i’m not here to troll and talk shit, you’re coaches and players do enough of that. you would think a SWEEP would shut your team up, but they’re still talking. too bad you have to wait a whole year to take care of us, or try to, again.

Hey, good job stopping the Wildcat at least you got that accomplished!

“They’re a great team, they’ll probably contend for the Super Bowl. They have a tremendous offense — great running backs, a great quarterback, a great tight end. They are stacked across the board. I’m serious. They are great.” And later he continued.
“They have a tremendous offense and they showed it today. They are Super Bowl contenders and they will probably take it all the way.”

why we're here?

The voices of your franchise have brought us here and the remarks they make after a loss. In Rex’s eye’s its never their fault and that bleeds down to the better players on your team. Bart Scott’s remarks on show why he was an undrafted FA out of college as well as the way he carries himself. He dresses like he’s still shopping the racks at Marshall’s and maybe the Dirty Sanchise is spending too much time worrying about how he looks. BTW cute hug with Braylon at the end, I swear that wasn’t fabulous.

Yes we’re reacting to comments by fans but more than anything we’re reacting to the leaders on your team.

Without Ted Ginn finally remembering how to play the game of football, we don’t pull this one out. You guys looked great against our running attack, and some of those blitzes were crazy.

Good job – glad we’ve had a couple of classic games this year. This really is the best rivalry in the NFL.

Trolling

A lot of you dolphins fans are the most sore winners ever. The poster said the Jets gave up the game on special teams. IE, they did not execute to their ability. How you guys twist that so you can troll all over this blog is embarrassing to all the respectable Phins fans that know how to show class. And don’t tell me how Jet fans do the same because that’s an excuse 5 year olds make.

It was a good game and a hard loss decided by a couple of TDs that shouldn’t have been if the Jets special teams did their job and executed to their ability. I mean come on…that was a disgustingly sad job of tackling on the second runback. And if I was a Phins fan, or if it was the other way around, I’d feel the same way.

So for all you sore trolling winners, shut up and enjoy the win.
