The First Blemish
When you start a rookie quarterback, you have to live with the possibility he will make mistakes that lose games. That happened today. How can anybody get upset with Mark Sanchez? Again, he is a rookie and exceeded anybody's wildest expectations in the first three weeks. With that said, the blame for this loss lies with him.
19-0 was never a realistic possibility. This was eventually going to happen. This was an out of conference road game against a terrific football team. Plus the defense just about shut down the league's most explosive offense.
The schedule really starts to open up from here. We've reached the soft underbelly. The Jets should put this one behind them quickly. This team has a shot to put itself in great position for the stretch run in both the division race and the battle for homefield advantage.

We dont have a #2 receiver just a whole bunch of #3 receivers and a beast of a TE, I already know what we are going to look for in next years draft, hopefully they make a move before that so we can get another WR just for good measure!!! Are D was good this game, but we needed to run the ball more in the 2nd half Green was getting us some good yards I dont know what to say, some of the 3rd down decisions baffled me passing???? WT………
This was eventually going to happen.
Agreed. While losing is never fun, it wasn’t unexpected. There was still plenty of good things to take away from the game. The defense was awesome considering they held arguably the best offense in the league to only 10 points. The only question is if Sanchez learns from his mistakes. The main problem is that his turnovers are magnified because they resulted in touchdowns. It would be wrong to expect Sanchez to do it all. The intended receiver, and rest of the offense for that matter, need to make more of an effort to get the tackle after the interception. Something also needs to be done to improve the running game.
Most Picked Our Jets To Start 1-3 At Best
So 3-1 with winnable games ahead looks good. I think if we had last years QB(I wont mention his name) we win this game pretty easily. The Jets have got to get the running game going even if it means more trick plays with Smith and Washington. Otherwise teams will use the Saints blueprint to stop the Jets.
Last year's QB (who's name shall not be spoken)
was also a turnover generator, even more so than the rookie. I understand your frustration that Sanchez threw the picks, but it’s up to the rest of the team to tackle the defender before he scores. If your WR tackles Sharper in the endzone, Brees has to move the Saints 80 yards to get those same 7 points. If he tackles Sharper at the 10, Brees has to go 90 yards. If you blame the rookie for throwing the pick, you have to blame the rest of the team for not preventing it from turning into points. Last year’s QB would have made no difference. Honestly, he could have made it even worse (remember, that guy is the All-Time Interceptions leader…). Now Pennington, he would have taken care of the ball for you, but not that other guy…
How Soon We Forget 8-3
Number 4 was doing a decent job till he was injured and Mangini and Schotty came up with vanilla plans against bad teams. While B.F. throws a lot of picks, he knows how to look off the safety better than a rookie would, and he wouldve taken a safety before dropping the ball in his end zone. With that said, I am 100% behind Sanchez and hope this game teaches him more than another ugly win would have. 3-1 with a rookie QB is better than anyone thought they would be.
Plenty of blame to go around
In a surprising turn of events, the Defense held up even without our two and three cornerbacks against the best passing offense in the league to date. I for one, actually got a pretty good feeling about this. If it wasn’t for a lackluster o-line and weak rushing we wouldn’t have to force it on the kid’s shoulders in a week. The boy turned it over three times, and the defense still kept it a game for the most part.
I’m not the type to sugar coat anything, or look for the bright side of hard losses, but the way the Jets D looked minus two starters and our nickelback up against Brees and friends really pleased me.
he has got to learn to protect the ball better, i still saw him carrying it low

I cant remember the last time I fumbled my remote
If I did my wife would dive for the remote, and the turnover would force my tv to be tuned into Jon and Kate. Remote Security is very important!!
Rookie Mistake
We should have seen this coming. When drafting a rookie quarterback and starting him his first year, there are gonna be games where you cant rely on him when he tries to do to much. This is a learning experience and hopefully he learns from this game and applies this to the up coming games. I believe that this was also the toughest game they are going to play this year, on the road in a loud and hectic Metrodome atmoshere. Mark Sanchez has to stay positive and throw this game in the bag. On a positive not, our defense looked spectacular. Our defense let up the same amount of points the Saints defense did. Allowing Drew Brees under two hundred yards and without a touchdown is very impressive. With that being said. the Saints D did not face difficult challenges when their offense gives up the ball so the opposing team has great field advantage. With smarter play at the quarterback position, this team will soon be the team to be reckon with.
Hats off to the Jets D
Your guys did a great job stopping Drew and Co. They kept it close for 3 quarters. Who knows??? We may meet again this season….
Before you pick your Super Bowl winner ask yourself this: Can you name an offense that can keep pace with the Saints?- Jerome Bettis
