Jets Sign Miller, Place Washington On IR
The question of the day has been , who will the Jets now use to return kicks, well we seem to have found the answer, and the answer is a familiar one to the Jets fan base.
Today it was announced that the Jets had signed former player Justin Miller, who was a pro bowl kick returner while with the Jets in 2006. Returning two kick-offs for TD's and averaging over 28 yards a return.
In 98 career games, Miller has returned 147 kickoffs for 3,851 yards (26.2 avg.) including five kickoff returns for touchdowns and has compiled 98 total tackles.
Last month the Jets brought Miller in for a work out, only to see him re-sign with the Raiders. Who in turn released him pretty quickly.
So welcome back to Justin, we all know what he can do.

how about resigning miller?
didn’t they have in to interview a few weeks back as a CB and turn him down?
he was never much of a CB, but was a nice returner. prob a cheap option and could be more dynamic than some of the existing options. sadly they have a roster spot with leon down.

No need for sarcasm. JetsFan1991 made an argument for Miller based on sound logic, and it seems the team was thinking the same way.

My question, why did they release him in the first place? Was it just that he was an awful corner or were there other circumstances?

They needed to clear a spot to sign Ty Law last year, and with Leon aboard, they didn’t really need Miller as a returner.

There are times in my life wheere I have self-doubt, but when this happens, I simply ask myself: What would Don Draper do? So I bone a random whore.

He was released by Oakland
around a week after he signed with them at the start of October, before that he was with the Raiders after we released him.

What I want to know is why was he released by Oakland?
I mean if he’s not good enough to get on THAT team then that doesn’t really inspire much confidence…

Really don't know
but when they pick DHB over Crabtree, have Russell as their starting QB, then perhaps it’s a good thing that they didn’t think much of him. They obviously don’t have the most adept scouts.
