Is The Raiders Game A Must Win For Jets Playoff Aspirations
So we have heard a lot this week from the fans, and we appreciate that, however there seems to be mixed emphasis put on this weekends game. Some consider it a must win, but a fair few fans I have talked to seem to think that losing on Sunday would not entirely dent our play-off aspirations.
So what do you all think?

Running Game / Playoffs
I haven’t bought into this years Jets team being special. I will say that they are pretty good – The running game is their week spot, not in terms of yardage or anything, I’ve just seen Thomas Jones tiptoe to the line of scrimmage too often. Even just a 2 yard gain is helpful if the running back puts a hit on somebody ( or demands that the defense hit him ). Maybe Jones is hurt , but a play where you don’t gain many yards AND you don’t get physical with the defense is a wasted play. It’s equivalent to having 2 tries to make a first down instead of 4 – Sanchez is good, he’s had a high profile game ( loss ) and a tough loss – both of those things will help him , but you can’t ask him to win or make the playoffs playing 2 down ball – it’s a 4 down game…

Playoffs are on Sachez...
If he can increase his completion percentage and obviously cut down on the turnovers, the Jets will be in good shape. I agree with the previous comment. Although TJ gets his yards, the run game doesnt grind on anybody. TJ doesnt get tough yards. He goes down on first contact too easily and rarely breaks tackles. He seems better suited for a pass-first team where he can get down hill b4 the D can react. He’s not effective when they know its coming. He just skates to the line and hides from the hits. Shonn should start eating some of his carries.

I don’t think there’s a must win game this early, but it sure would hurt to not bank this one.

WOW !!
Did I just see Thomas Jones put his hat into the chest of a Raider…? in a blowout ? In the fourth quarter?…..on the goal line ? …..those small things define good teams and define fundamental football – The Jets are good enough to beat playoff teams if they play that style of ball every week………
