Wisconsin misses #4

I pulled into the parking lot of my local pub for my Thursday night dart league. “What’s going on?” Every parking space was full and there wasn’t an empty table or chair to be found. How could I forget—Brett Favre was playing Randy Moss and the rival team for the division lead. The crowd cheered with every one of Brett’s scores. A classic Favre drive put them in the lead with only a few seconds left on the clock. The rivals drove down to the red zone. There was time for one last play. No, it can’t be! Randy Moss made an incredible catch and tied the game. The pub’s crowd was silent in disbelief. On the first drive in overtime our hero, Brett, takes the team down the field and the winning field goal is made. The crowd goes wild! I am convinced that was the loudest cheer ever heard in the State of Wisconsin. . . for a New York Jets game.

On the way home it hit me. I just saw a great game where Brett Favre and the home team beat Randy Moss and the arch rivals for the division lead—something we’ve all seen before. But this time, it was a Jets/Patriots game. I hope the fans in New York and New Jersey realize and cherish the player they now have. Yes, he will have his bad days with multiple interceptions. But he brings an excitement to football that you probably won’t experience again in your lifetime; and comes from a 16-year stretch with a storied team that had the highest winning percentage in the league. Enjoy the journey for all it’s worth. I have my green and white #4 jersey ready for the playoffs.

It wasn't so long ago that Favre was lobbying the Packer brass to bring in..

..an out of favor wide receiver from the Raiders. One Randy Moss.

But they knew better, and weren’t about to have their competence challenged by some hick from Mississippi.

No siree…

Ooooppps....

Deanna Favre allowed how Brett unwound after the game by going out on “the property” (at night) to do a little “hunting”. A pit lamp scandal? Probably not as serious as Mike Vick going out on “the property” (at night) after the game to watch a little pit bull fighting, but still…..

“but he didn’t do anything illegal” – seems like a bad spot to be some sort of critter

Pretty sure that hunting after dark is flat out illegal..

..can’t really think of any exceptions. Regardless if you use a light or not.

“That there ain’t no wolf, Brett, that’s Mrs. Beasley’s collie, you best get rid of the carcass quick…”.

Maybe he was just checking the trapline..

…“Nothin’ much tonite, D, just a couple of cats, a hamster, and one of the Wilson kids…..”
