Mawae was released.
McCareins was released. Hell, even Heimerdinger was released. Not one of those guys was a “me, me, me” big-money-contract type of guy. Why do you need to see them cry?
I mean, come on, Kevin Mawae was a freakin’ institution in New York when they let him go. Wanting to see Mawae in tears is like fans of the Titans wanting to see McNair or Eddie George in tears after those guys were released by Tennessee. And I can guarantee you that no one wanted that. Titans’ fans wanted to win, yes, but they did it with a modicum of class.

Funny how you mention class...
Mawae trashed the organization on his way out of town. The reason Heimerdinger was released as you pointed out was that he threw a temper tantrum and demanded to be let out of his contract when Eric Mangini kept him on as offensive coordinator. He negotiated his release through the press.
McCareins seemed like a classy enough guy, but he couldn’t catch a cold during his time here. He was so afraid to get hit that he never put his body on the line. It was a complete waste of a second rounder. I’m sure there is some bust from the Titans that your fanbase loves to hate.
If I was saying this about guys like Curtis Martin and Wayne Chrebet, you’d have a point. I took no satisfaction in watching Chad Pennington suffer in Week 1 because he is the epitome of class. Mawae and Heimerdinger can’t hold a candle to any of the guys I just mentioned or George and McNair.
